About this deal

We are eagerly anticipating the second book; I hope to hear much more from this author in the future. Serena Patel is the author of the Anisha, Accidental Detective series which won the Sainsbury's Children's Book Award for Fiction. I studied illustration at Kingston University, London, and my second children’s picture book was longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2005. Milo and I have been looking forward to this half-term for what feels like FOREVER - we're finally going to the National Space Centre, to meet a real-life space engineer!

Full of gentle humour while addressing some of the big issues that affect many of our children, here is another story which is an absolute delight – packed with fun, written and illustrated with charm and one that covers the excitement and concerns of both a residential visit and the prospect of a new baby in the family. My whole family wanted to tag along and visit a festival first, where this super-famous, mega-expensive diamond is on display. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! This next book in the series is filled to the brim with the lovely, gentle humour that Serena Patel is know for and is oh so good at. Review left for our 11 year old daughter: No spoilers from me - This book was very funny, I couldn't put it down. We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child. I've been working sooo hard with Milo and Govi to make our super-erupting volcano for the school science fair. Anisha is always on the look out for ways to look after the world and when she enters a competition to look after the beach and things start to go wrong… it’s up to her (and her gang) to solve the puzzle!

Emma McCann (Illustrator) Emma McCann is a freelance illustrator, sporadic painter/print maker, occasional cake baker, and regular mess maker. One minute we were in the lab practising our science demo, and the next thing we knew, our volcano exploded and flooded the corridors. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. As you can probably guess, I love books and you can often find me making a fool of myself preaching the good gospel of the library to local school children. I've since illustrated many titles for a wide variety of publishers and clients including Ladybird, Oxford University Press, Girlguiding, Bear Grylls Ventures, and Usborne.

There's sabotage on the school trip, in the seventh hilarious case in the award-winning Anisha, Accidental Detective series! I've just found a ransom note, pushed through the letter box, saying Uncle Tony, Bindi's husband-to-be, has been kidnapped, and will only be freed if the wedding is cancelled! Honestly, I just want to read my book, but there's NEVER any time to relax for Anisha, Accidental Detective. Someone needs to prove Granny Jas is innocent, so it looks like Milo and I might need to go UNDERCOVER.

The chaotic warmth of an eccentric extended family underpins this exhilarating romp which touches upon children's insecurity about change. She lives in the West Midlands with her family and believes all children deserve to feel seen in the stories they read and that books are an important tool for empathy. The books are fun and entertaining but also encourage critical thinking and highlight STEM subjects, which is a bonus.A laugh out loud tale of mishap, misbehaving grannies, grumpy neighbours and large, loving families. We can’t wait to read the next book in the series, especially after reading the taster chapter at the end of the book! Milo can't wait to see the wildlife, Manny's learning survival skills, and even Granny's going to have a go at archery. It was great to learn about different family traditions, but the real beauty of these books is the writing.

The holiday park's mascot, Delilah the duck, has been DESTROYED, and my new friend Cleo is everyone's number one suspect. It's supposed to be the WEDDING OF THE YEAR but it's tomorrow and it's looking like a "first-class disaster! We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. She needs to use her scientific skills of logic and deduction to track down Uncle Tony in time for his wedding. Hi, I'm Anisha, I'm supposed to be a bridesmaid at my Aunty Bindi's wedding tomorrow, but I've just found a ransom note, pushed through the letterbox, saying Bindi's husband-to-be has been KIDNAPPED and will only be freed if the wedding is CANCELLED!
