Castle of Dusk and Shadows: A Fae Pride and Prejudice Retelling (Fae of Brytwilde)
About this deal
The issue I had was more that we get one (ONE) kiss between Fitz and Elle and it's immediately followed by her being convinced that he's a murder. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. I loved seeing them get to know one another in a different light than their prejudices prevented them from seeing in the beginning.
it had everything i loved about the cruel prince and everything i look for in a fantasy romance but with no spice and i loved it. The trouble was this was all supposed to be the book's climax, and I was just getting antsy and impatient.Since there are approximately 9 zillion fae-themed fantasies nowadays, even a couple new twists on familiar mythology and tropes is nice.
I also really enjoyed seeing how Elle grapples with being accepted by the land to wield the power Fitz has bestowed on her.As a longtime fan of Rachel’s books, I knew this was going to be good but oh man, did this one blow me away.
The characters that Rachel wrote and brought to life are so lovable and you can't help but fall in love with them. So obviously I picked this up because it was a clean romance, and I don't need too many personal (albeit fictional) details in my life. It takes the Fae that we all know and love but gives it a fresh twist and adds in creepy ghosts which just take it to another level!I think what I appreciated most about this though was that it touched on some of the more vital themes from the original. As far as the audiobook goes, it was wonderful to come back to this story and listen to it all over again. The writing and characterization were really solid, and there were a pleasant lack of typos (which I've been encountering a lot of in indie published works lately, to my great chagrin). This was a great standalone with a swoon worthy prince- but I look forward to learning more about the world and the other fae realms in Schade’s future books!
